Retron 2 Compatibility List and Overview

Over the last few months I have gotten a lot of questions about what games will or won’t work on the Retron 2. For a while I have been putting together a list of some of the games and issues associated with the Retron 2. I have also got some help from DK Oldies and a few friends over at DigitPress.

    Classic NES NON-compatible games:

    1. Bandit Kings of Ancient China
    2. Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse
    3. Cheetahmen II
    4. Challenge of the Dragon
    5. Crystal Mines
    6. Gauntlet
    7. Gemfire
    8. Jordan vs Bird: One on One
    9. Laser Invasion
    10. La Empereur
    11. Mad Max
    12. Nobunaga’s Ambition II
    13. Paperboy
    14. Pipe Dream
    15. Rad Racer II
    16. Romance of the Three Kingdoms II
    17. The Krion Conquest
    18. Uncharted Waters
    19. WWF King of the Ring
    20. WWF WrestleMania Challenge

    SNES Games and Accessories:

    1. The Incredible Crash Dummies
    2. BatterUP
    3. E.V.O.: Search for Eden
    4. Street Fighter Alpha
    5. Star Ocean
    6. Kirby Super Star
    7. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
    8. Super Bomberman 2
    9. Kirby Dreamland 3

Super Scope 6 Gun will work but you can not use a controller it wont let two player mode work on Terminator: Arcade, Metal Combat, etc. At times different copies of the same game can work differently in the same console. This may be explained by a malfunction with the cartridge itself. Some copies of Dragon Warrior or Super Mario Bros. 2 for example will not work in the Retron 2; while other copies of the same games will operate in the same machine. Konami Justifier also does not work at all.

Will Reproduction cartridges play in my Retron?

Yes I have personally tested a few of my repro carts in my Retron 2 and Retron 5.

    3 Comments:

    1. Had to the list Kirby DreamLand 3

    2. I have had problems with Faria, Dragon Warrior IV, and mega man 5 on the retron 2… basically anything with the gold label that talks about the battery.
