Retro Gaming & Collecting Podcast Episode #20 – The Other … Fate

Video Game Rescue

I’m really trying to expand the show and give it a lot more content over all. This week I added another segment and an interview to try and lengthen the show to around an hour. I am in need of guests so if you or someone you know would be a great. I also discuss a few posts I had this past week including the Nintendo 64 system and controller display & the article on how to make your own Virtual Boy Cases. I also talk about a Video Blaster for NES  that came into my store.

Kirby’s Dream Land for the original Gameboy turned twenty this month! His official cake day was August 1st 1992 and sold over one million copies, making it the fourth largest Gameboy releases! It went on to sell more than five million copies world wide.

This weeks winner of “Find of the Week” is KaiVel from over at /r/gamecollecting. He managed to get this awesome statue for FREE from a friend of his. The Huge Mario on eBay has a starting bid of $4,500 and a buy it now at $5,000!

Interview with Jerry from MondoCoolCast

Jerry and I spoke for around forty five minutes about everything from how he got started with his site to our love & hates of the retro gaming world. We kept having problems with our connections dropping out on Skype but we muscled through it!

Video Game Easter Egg of the Week

Disney’s Aladdin for Sega Genesis!

Listen to the podcast to hear about where you can find a hidden Sega and where to find a certain piece of Disney’s main mascot to get a few extra lives! Also there is something funny about those skeletons and poor Sebastian is all hung up on something. Finally there is good old Mickey Mouse just in bones.

  1. Thank you to everyone that downloaded the podcast this week!

  2. Awesome episode! Makes me wish I still had my Atari 2600 system … or that I could play Commander Keen. Keep up the great work!

  3. Sorry I changed the commenting on the site and I lost your last comment =(

  4. Lets see if I can remember what it was … nope … I’ll just have to leave a better one! 🙂

This episode was great! I chuckled a few times during the interview with Jerry. The whole thing made me wish I could fire up a game of Commander Keen or the original Doom. I never was much of a console player (although it would be fun to have my old Atari 2600 back) but a lot of the old (oops, retro) games I used to play were sure fun!

  5. Great episode. My first listen to a podcast in about 5 years. Never knew there was such a market for all the stuff I skipped years back. Now I hate myself.
